Short week finds

Yes! A short week with an Anniversary day on Monday and now Easter celebrations. Only 3 days of op shopping but some lovely discoveries.

When I was a girl we had a picnic blanket identical to this. It brings back such memories. Often in summer my mum packed a picnic, collected my dad from work and we would drive to Akatarawa River and have a picnic tea, a swim and into our pyjamas. We collected twigs for my parents Thermette and as the sun became cooler a cup of tea was made. My mum loved it…no dishes…no baths… All done and into bed we would go without the usual routine and a long night ahead of peace for my parents.

The fine weave and lightness of this blanket is lovely.

Ridiculously pink – I’ve never seen this before.

This quilt smelt like the 1970’s and was ultra cheap because of it! Such beautiful tones.

I’ve always fancied a fruit basket like this.

When I was a girl I had a shadow box . It was white and this shape and held all my precious little ornaments.

This is my favourite find…a metal and wood step stool. I am going to take to it with the steel wool this weekend to see if I can get rid of the paint marks on the top step.

    1. Well that is always the problem… Some I keep as I think, ‘One day I will…’ and others I sell. Just last weekend I started making lunch wraps – I will do a post on that sometime. I have also started a cupboard of ‘sheet porn’ just so I can look at my favourites!

      1. I can understand your cupboard of ‘sheet porn’, I have a drawer full of refashion porn that is just there to look at and inspire me until I get around to actually refashioning. I am working on some basic refashioning right now, just hems and taking things in. Cheers, Michele
