Thursday Housie & Knitting

My grandma used to go to Housie once a week. Today I found Housie tickets and a Housie board. I love old typography and numbers so this grid is particularly appealing to me.

Every woman who was a serious knitter had a knitting bag because clothes used to be made for all family members. Everyone had home made jerseys in the 1960’s. There has been a revival in knitting but for a few generations the skill was not passed down. Knitting became something for old ladies. It is so good to see now that people are knitting again. imageimage

There were also some goodies in the bag.

What an excellent tone of green.

A metal pin tin just like my mum had.

Perfect green sewers scissors that are mid size and sharp.

I also found a tin container that will have a pot plant in it.

And finally a tablecloth with floral pattern in interesting colours. An excellent day op shopping!
